A membrane laid before the pour. Its quartz-sand surface keys mechanically into the concrete and bonds to it chemically and physically, so no gap or path is left for water to travel between membrane and concrete.
A PVC waterstop set directly into the construction joint during the pour. Its multi-rib profile blocks the water path mechanically, rib after rib, forming a barrier that even pressurised water cannot pass.
A one-component polyurethane-based sealant — it stays small while dry and swells only on contact with water, filling the joint and the area around penetrations by itself. Not for expansion (moving) joints — intended only for static joints and penetrations.
FPO (flexible polyolefin) tape bonded directly to the substrate with a special Sikadur® epoxy adhesive — designed for large joints where building sections move in different directions.
